Questions? We Got Some Answers!

We figured you might have a few questions before heading into the mountains, so we put together some answers to make the trip a little easier. And if something’s not covered here, just text or email us!

  • Not at all! We want you to feel comfortable joining the activities that sound fun to you and also have time to do your own thing with family and friends. We’ve put together a weekend itinerary (linked here) with all the details. Just be sure to RSVP for the food and drink events so we can plan ahead.

  • We recommend Canaan Valley Resort, The Billy Motel, or nearby cabins and Airbnbs. See our “Lodging” page for options.

  • Yes — Canaan Valley is spread out, and driving is the easiest way to get to hikes, breweries, and the celebration.

  • Most folks will get in on Thursday. We’ll have casual meet-ups (like a restaurant stop & downtown meandering) that evening, and the big celebration is Saturday night.

  • Hiking trips, brewery visits, the famous Billy Motel nosh & cocktails/mocktails, and the Saturday night gathering. Check the “Weekend Schedule” page for full details.

  • Absolutely not! Think mountain-casual. Nice but comfortable — something you can dance, eat, and drink in. The entire weekend is going to centered around being comfy.

  • Layers are your best friend — mountain weather can change quickly. Bring comfy shoes for hiking and something nice-but-casual for Saturday night.

  • Yes! We’ll do our best to cover all dietary needs. Make sure to note yours in the RSVP form.

  • Of course. Mocktail/Non-alcoholic options will also be available.

    • A quick note: Kids will be around throughout the weekend, so we’re hoping to keep things low-key. Please just be mindful — and of course, enjoy yourself and have a good time.

  • Yes! Kids are absolutely welcome. We will have our daughters Elizabeth (9) & Mabel (6) with us as well. They would love some pals to run around with.

  • It will be mid-May, and mountain weather can be unpredictable. Evenings can be chilly, so bring layers just in case. Hiking boots, jackets, pants, and shorts are a good idea!

  • Service can be spotty. Download directions and details ahead of time just to be safe.
